The Alienware M17x laptop:
The M17X Recently came out tops in a UK competition hosted by ‘The Gadget Show’ on channel 5. Pitted against two other gamers Laptops, the Rock xtreme 685 and the MSI GT 680, the Alienware M17x took the flag. The competition was set up in such a way that three of the top ‘gamers’ in the country test drove the machines using a variety of games to check against computer speed and clarity of product-did the image drag or was it out of focus etc. Final score was out of a potential 5 stars and was:-

Although perhaps not the most scientific of tests it does give you a broad indication of the appeal in the M17x laptop. Some of the commentary by ‘The Gadget Show’ review makes for interesting reading.
Things like “The Alienware M17x is one of the most powerful laptops on the planet. It features graphics performance that puts most PCs to shame, and you can easily play the latest games on the move. Just don’t plan on travelling too far, as it’s also one of the bulkiest machines around”.

This bulkiness could be a bit of a downer if perhaps you are taking it around to your mates to get into a bit of Gaming! However it is true that there is no gain without pain in this life and sometimes a bit of discomfort may have to be put up with if it gives you a winning edge against the Gaming competition 
However when it comes to the rest of the Review then they are quite ‘gushing’ about the Alienware M17x. Quite rightly in my view, pointing out that although quite bulky to carry around with you, that is a small price to pay when you take into account the advantages.
